PTU Tutorial - Drummer Girl


For this tutorial i am using the amazing artwork by @Arthur Crowe

~Supplies Needed~
Tube of choice
Scrapkit used was Drums Grl made by Desirena Designs which can be purchased from here
If you do not have this scrapkit please feel free to use another one with similar elements
VixBigMask_001 made by Vix which can be downloaded from here
Halftone-mask-8 made by Dee wchich can be downloaded from here

Let's Get Started

Open a 850 x 750 canvas - fill with white - copy & paste element 13 as a new layer - resize by 60% - move up your canvas a bit - add a drop shadow 

Copy & paste element 24 as a new layer - resize by 60% - position tio the left of your canvas - with your nagic wand select the middle - selections - modify - expand by 3 - add a new raster layer & move it below the frame layer - fill with black - copy & paste your tube as a new layer - position - selections - invert - hit delete - selections - none - adjust - hue & saturation - colourise - set both sliders to 0 - duplicate - adjust - blur - gaussian blur - 3.00 - change the blend mode to soft light - effects - plugins - Xero - Radience



Add a drop shadow to the frame - hide all your layers apart from the frame, tubes & the black fill layer - merge visible - unhide layers - duplicate - image - mirror - merge down - duplicate again - resize by around 80% depending on your prefference

Copy & paste your main tube as a new layer - position in the center of your tag - duplicate - adjust - blur - gaussian blur - 3.00 - change the blend mode to soft light or if this doesn't suit your tube, change it to something that matches - on the original go to selections - all - float - defloat - selections - modify - expand by 2 - add a new raster layer below both tube layers - fill with white - adjust - add/remove noise



Add a drop shadow

Copy & paste element 5 as a new layer - resize to liking - position to the right & move below your tube layers - add a drop shadow - duplicate - image - mirror

Copy & paste element 27 as a new layer - move below your tube layers

Set your foreground to nil - background set to any colour - preset shapes - eclipse - draw out a large circle - once happy with your size - objects - align - center of canvas - convert to raster - move below all your layers - selections - all - float - defloat - copy & paste a paper as a new layer - selections - invert - hit delete - selections - invert - selections - modify - expand by 3 - on the original circle layer fill white - selections - none - apply the same noise settings as you did earlier - add a drop shadow

- TEXT ON A CURVE -

Set your foreground to a bright colour (Doesn't matter, we will be deleting this layer) - background set to nil - preset shapes - eclipse - line width 2 - select your font & have it set to floating - draw out a circle that fits around the circle noise layer (See my tag) - DO NOT CONVERT TO RASTER - add a new raster layer - with your font add some words so that it fills the entire circle, if it doesn't fit add some spaces between the words or change the font size - selections - none - delete the circle layer you just drew - effects - plugins - Eye Candy - Gradient Glow - glow width 3.00



Add a drop shadow

Add a new raster layer above your background layer - fill with black - layers - new mask from image - apply Vix's mask - merge group - reduce opacity if needed

Add another new raster layer above the mask layer - fill with a colour from your tube - layers - new mask from image - apply Deb's mask - merge group - apply the same noise settings as earlier

With your font add your name - position - apply the same gradient glow settings - add a drop shadow

Don't forget to add the artists correct copyrite - crop & save tag and you are done!
